QUESTIONS

Are you looking forward to fall?

I look forward to fall, anything to get out of summer here, but fall here is still hot. I look forward to winter the most, where maybe it will be cooler. Winter here is nothing like it was back home. In Anderson County, South Carolina, we usually needed to turn on the heater in the winter time. We lived in this house here in Texas through two winters before we realized that the heater wasn't even working. It was 89 degrees on Christmas Eve here one year. Good grief! Give me ice and snow and all that cool winter stuff, not year-round melt-a-thons!

What are the three best colors for you to wear, and the three worst?

Deep greens have always been a good color for me. Earth tones work the best on me, which is good, because I prefer them in addition to black. I love red, but certain shades, especially bright ones, of reds, yellows, and oranges are horrendous on me. According to a color analysis done on me years ago, I am an "Autumn".

What is your favorite kind of juice? If you are not into juice, you can tell us your favorite flavor of soda, tea, coffee, Tang, mud, etc.

I live on Diet Coke, but I know it is bad for me. I am trying to get brave enough to end this habit, but so far, it isn't working. I like cranberry/grape juice and just plain grape juice. I am allergic to oranges, grapefruits, and pretty much all citrus fruits. I love orange juice, so that makes it kind of hard. I don't particularly care for an anaphylactic reaction, so I stay away from it.

Have you ever been in the hospital (at least an overnight)? You don't need to share the ailment, but tell us what the longest time is.

Yes, I have been in the hospital overnight on many occasions. My first, and longest, hospital stay was as a newborn. I was born with bronchitis. My mama was sick, too. They gave me penicillin to clear up the bronchitis. My mama says that I turned purple and swelled up like a blowfish. I was allergic to the penicillin. I almost died. We stayed in the hospital for two weeks.

The longest that I've been in the hospital since my newborn days was for a week. I've been in the hospital for a tonsillectomy, birthing my babies and several other things.

Do jingles, songs from ads, and TV or movie themes stick in your head? Do you find yourself singing them? (This question means that I'm trying to find out if I'm the only crazy person who sings quirky stuff!)

Yes, they do, and sometimes they nearly drive me crazy! I don't think that it means you're crazy...it just means their marketing department is very good at what they do. :)

  1. I'm allergic to oranges too but not any of the other citrus fruits. I keep saying I am going to kick the diet pepsi beast but not having much luck either.

    1. I'm sorry that you're allergic to oranges, too, but glad that you aren't allergic to the other ones.

It can be pretty hard to knock the soft drink addictions. The summer that I was sick, it was pretty easy. I should never have picked them back up, because it is so much harder now. Good luck to you as you try to beat the Diet Pepsi habit.

  3. Jingles drive me crazy too! Sounds like you were very sick as a baby. I would not like the weather where you live. I need my fall and winter. I don't care for summer weather, but I love fresh things from the garden. Wendell does too.I look good in dark green too. I had my hair auburn for about ten years and that was a great color for me.

    1. Yes, I was. It ultimately turned out that I had asthma, not just bronchitis, and now COPD is my life partner.

The thing that I like most about the summer around here is the flowers. I do not like being hot at all. Having such a long growing season is good, if only we didn't have to melt in exchange for it. I am glad that you get a fall and winter. I miss having 4 distinct seasons. You are so blessed. :)

My hair is naturally auburn, but now, like Conway Twitty says in his song, my "auburn hair has faded and silver takes its place." Okay, so it isn't really silver yet, but it isn't so auburn anymore.

Do you wear a lot of green? I have a couple of green tops that kind of make me think of the Bohemian style.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!
