1. June 17th is Eat Your Vegetables Day... do you need a special day to celebrate veggies? Your favorite veg?
No, I don't need a special day for veggies. I love them anytime I can get them. I love most all kinds, but some of my favorites are Brussels sprouts, asparagus, broccoli, and baby carrots.
2. How did you spend your Father's Day? Or for those who don't have Father's Day on June 16th, what did you do this weekend?
To be quite blunt, I spent it crying and struggling to come up with a post that could express how I felt about my daddy on this first Father's Day after his death, but that also was realistic about the fact that he was human, too. I never was able to come up with anything inspiring or perfect on my own, so I searched for quotes about fathers and daughters and then did a collage that included a picture of me with my daddy and me with my father-in-law on my wedding day. Both of them are gone now, my father-in-law passing away in 1987, not quite a year after our first baby was born, and my daddy passing away this past December. I just felt so at a loss for words.
3. June 18th is National Splurge Day... if you were (are) going to participate, what would/will you splurge on?
If I could afford it, I would eat a bazillion langostinos, but I can't so Ramen soup will have to do. :)
4. What is the farthest you've ever traveled from home?
I think about a thousand miles is the farthest I've been away from home and now that is my home. We came out here to the Texas Gulf Coast from the upstate of South Carolina.
They say that the true character of a person isn't made by what they do when they can be seen by others, but by what they do when no one is watching. What do you do when no one is watching?

When no one is looking, I try and look at others and imagine their stories. At home by myself, I will do the "required" chores and them read.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing a lot of reading myself lately. I also like to imagine the stories behind others. My kids and I also like to talk for the kitties and make up stories for them.

South Carolina to Germany. Father was in the Air Force. Had to look up what a langostinos was. Doesn't look to appetizing to me though lol
ReplyDeleteI guess they could look icky, but they sure do taste good. :)
DeleteI had an uncle that was in the US Army - 82nd Airborne. He served in Germany, too. Did you like living there?
