My Photographic Family Tree

I am working on collecting photographs of my direct line ancestors (though I wouldn't refuse collateral relatives either!). I have at least one picture of each of my parents and grandparents and of three of my great-grandparents. There are five great-grandparents left to go and I don't know if I'll ever be able to get those. I will keep trying, though! The black squares represent those great-grandparents that I do not have pictures of, but it appears that I missed putting the black squares for my paternal grandmother's parents. Oops, please forgive me, Granny. :)

I also have some of a few great-great-grandparents, but they are the parents of the great-grandparents that I do not have pictures of and it was going to take more brain power than I have at the moment to figure out the layout on that.

Have you ever created a photo family tree? Do you have it displayed in your home anywhere? Once I get better at laying it out and fill in the missing spots, I want to have my photographic family tree printed and framed. I kind of like the idea of these folks hanging around our home.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day. Remember to thank a veteran for his or her service to this country!

  1. I love your project ... this is priceless ... and what a grand adventure!

Legacy is such a huge gift, yes? And nothing can replace those photographs, letters, and momentos.

    1. Thank you, Linda. I agree that our legacies are very important and it is important to get it into a form that our children can carry into the future to their own children and grandchildren.

Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!
