Be sure to visit with Patrice this week. She shares a link to a post about how to make your own laundry detergent and also tells about the antics of Wendell the horse. Those are always entertaining. :)
1. How many load of laundry do you do each week (about)?
Maybe about six loads. I am not sure. I remember a time when it was about six loads a day! I don't miss those days one bit, though I do miss the washer and dryer set that we had at the time. We had the Maytag Neptune machines back then and they were great! They got the clothes clean, didn't beat them up, and dried them efficiently. Unfortunately, our newer set hasn't been so kind to the clothes or the electric bill. AND the dryer has died on us, so now we're having to use drying racks, which is okay, except that the clothes dry all stiff and crunchy. Any suggestions for how to make them be softer after air drying?
2. Where do your household pets sleep? If you have no pets, please skip to the next question.
All of our pets are outside animals. Our new puppies have a large kennel in the backyard and a small one in the carport for times that it is too cool for them to be totally outside. The cats usually sleep in the carport, too, although our old man kitty loves to sleep on the roof of our car, right where I can't reach him when I go to take the kids to school or pick them up.
Here is a picture of one of our new puppies. I don't have a picture of her sister yet. Meet Batly. :)

3. What is your favorite thing to listen to while you drive?
When David was in the hospital, I listened to a lot of country music and heard some really nice new songs, like "I Want to Make You Feel Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. Usually, though, I don't have the radio on. I would rather my husband talk to me when we're riding together. When the kids are in the car, there's not really any need in having it on. They are far more interesting than whatever the radio has going. :)
4. Do you have to do a big clean-up when you have company, or are you always ready for guests?
This house usually looks like the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo no matter what we do.
5. What's your favorite breakfast food?
BACON!
So sorry about your dryer. I bought a drying rack, but don't use it nearly enough...because of the "stiff and crunchy" clothes!!! If you find a solution, let me know!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and I sure will let you know if I find a solution to the crunchiness. :)

Hope you find an answer to your problem.
ReplyDeleteGood post and that sweet dog,
Yvonne.
Thank you. :) This has to be one of the lickiest puppies I've seen in awhile. Her sister (named Peter because she hops around like Peter Rabbit) is a licker, too. I can't pet them without ending up with doggy-drooly hands. haha

I love the smell of air dried clothes. I miss my clothesline. I keep saying I'm going to put it back up someday. Can't help you on the stiffness, though. I never did find a solution to that.
ReplyDeleteI remember how good the clothes smelled from the line when I was a kid and I don't remember them being so stiff either. Maybe you'll get your line back up soon. :)

We bought the Maytag Duet a few years back...I love them, we stacked ours in hopes to get a 2nd set that we haven't gotten yet. But they are great. They hold lots, clean well, don't destroy our delicates, & are running like the Energizer rabbit. Have a blessed week :O)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to keep the Duet in mind for when we go to get new ones, which will be a long time from now. I like the look of stacked machines, but being on the short side, it would never work for me. :)

Your puppy is adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteHurricane Hugo....lol! Guess we all tend to have the "lived in" look!
Blessings,
Tammy
Thank you. I love her little ears. So cute and soft!
Delete"Lived in" is way better than stuffy and formal or having rooms that the kids aren't allowed in, which was the case when my husband was a boy. In my childhood home, we kids used the entire house, with the exception maybe of our parents' room. "Lived in" works. :)

Thank you, Denise. I hope that you have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute puppy! My house is a hurricane house too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patrice. :) I'm getting ready to post the pic of Batly's sister Peter.
