Do you prefer to drive or be driven?

I am a horrible passenger. I have been the sole driver for our family since my husband was declared legally blind in 1996. I was a bad passenger before that, but being the only driver for so long has sealed me as a driver-only. I am very fidgety, nearing a panic attack if I have to be a passenger. Thankfully, it is an extremely rare event that I have to be a passenger. The last time was when our car had to go into the shop and the dealership came to take us to get the rental car. The last time before that was October 2010 when friends drove me home from the hospital after my surgery.

What's your favorite kind of jam, jelly, or preserve?

I absolutely love apple butter. The kind my granny made was the best, but Mott's is pretty good, too.

Do you have any special plans for this spring or summer?

At this point, my only plan is to try to survive spring and summer. With our oldest daughter moving about three hours away to continue her schooling and my husband's health issues, as well as my own, there is a great deal of stress making itself a home here.

Lots of folks are becoming aware of issues with food. There are many articles, books, and movies on topics like allergies, GMO, pesticide use, bad or no labeling, over processed foods, foods from other countries that may not have high standards, and many more topics. What concerns you the most? If nothing concerns you, have a cookie and skip to the next question.

What concerns me is that I cannot safely try new foods. I have had various food allergies since I was a child, primarily to citrus fruits. The things that I am allergic to now as well as just intolerant to have expanded to included things across the pyramid, even things that I could safely eat as a child. I do not know from one meal to the next if what was okay or just an intolerance yesterday will blow me up like a blow fish today or not. My choices are eat and hope for the best or starve to death. With a very few exceptions, so far, so good.

Do you use nail polish often? Finger nails, piggies, or both?

If you're meaning for my finger or toenails, no. However, I did buy some blue polish as well as pink polish for a bead project that I want to try soon.
