Questions

What is your favorite time of day to read? If you don't enjoy reading, then what is your favorite time to watch TV/movies?

My favorite time to read is any moment that I get a chance to do it. The time of day (or night!) doesn't matter. I'm as likely to be caught reading at 2am as I am at 2pm.

Did you watch the Super Bowl? If so, what was your favorite commercial? If you didn't watch it, what did you do Sunday night?

No, I didn't watch the Super Bowl. I am not a sports fan. At the moment, I can't remember what I did on Sunday night.

Have you been watching Downton Abbey?Who's your favorite character? If not, have you seen any interesting TV or movies series lately?

I have not been watching Downtow Abbey and don't even know what it is all about. David has been watching a lot of economics-related lectures lately. He is working on writing a business book.

Do you enjoy home parties for selling items? (like Pampered Chef, Southern Living, Mary Kay)

I used to enjoy them but not anymore. I used to be in the business, but I am extremely shy and it just was just way too far out of my comfort zone for me to be successful at it back then, and I am inclined to be even more reclusive at this point in my life.

Please finish this sentence. If I work very hard, I can__________________.

If I work very hard, I can let go of the hurt and anger even though the cause of these feelings is going to continue. If I work very hard, I can love even in the face of hate. If I work very hard, I can let go and let God. His love isn't fickle.

  1. I no longer go to home parties. I need to save the money. I hope your last answer comes true for you. I hope all that is able to happen. God's love is never fickle, but I often don't understand what he does.I also trust and know that He is good!Have a good week!

    1. Hi Patrice. Thank you.

Yes, He is good and will take care of us, but it sure would be helpful if we could be in on the details sometime. I don't do well with the unknown and life is full of those.

I need to save the money, too, and the stress. Being in a position of public speaking is very stressful for me. Basically, I'd rather go to the dentist or birth an elephant than be in front of people putting on a show. :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!

  3. My husband and I were just discussing why it is so hard for us to let go of things. If I let them go I tend to take them right back and fuss over them some more.

    Have a great week!

    1. I am bad about doing that, too. I don't want to take them back, but I do it.

    1. Maybe we would try to change it, but maybe we would understand it better. It would be nice to give it a try. :)

  5. I could never be a salesperson either! I was never suited to that but like you it is definitely getting even more opronounced as I get older. I enjoyed your answers. I hope you have a great week.

    1. I never should have even attempted party plan type sales. It was doomed from the start for me.

I wonder why it is getting worse for us as we get older? Do you think that it has anything to do with the constant bombardment we get with advertising indicating that we just can't compete on a business level with twenty-somethings because we're older and our bodies have more wear on them? Those ads make me so angry. I may not have a beautiful body, but that doesn't mean that I don't have a brain or can't do the job in question. And just because someone has a beautiful, youthful body doesn't mean that they have the brains or experience to go with it. Those ads make me feel like we've lost before we even entered the race. :(

      Their loss, right? :)

  6. I've had to deal with some pretty tough issues (read: huge understatement)these last few years, so your last comment hit home with me. I really need to work on having more faith. I used to have tons...so maybe you could do a post about that (hint, hint)?

    1. I wish that I could write an encouraging post about faith. I'm having a hard time writing about anything right now. But, I will pray about it and see what happens.

I am sorry that you've had to deal with some hard times over the last few years, too. What is challenging your faith right now? You're in my prayers.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!
