Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 32: #24

Please come on over to join us on Patrice's porch and don't forget to bring a carrot or two for Wendell!

Questions:

1.What did you have for breakfast this morning?

I have been feeling icky lately, so I had a few Ritz crackers for breakfast.

2.What's your favorite kind of juice?

I love grape juice, the kind that is used for communion.

3.Have you tried Pinterest yet?

I have a Pinterest account, but don't quite have it figured out yet.

4.I can't wait for __________ from my garden (or farmers' market/CSA/neighbor with green thumb).

I can't pick one veggie over the other right now....I want them all. :)

5.The worst job I ever had was __________________.

I've held very few paying jobs as I've spent the last 26 years being a mama. Working for my late father-in-law was great. I can't say that any experience working for anyone after that was very positive. Most of the people that I worked for didn't care if the job was done right or not, they just wanted it done and done quickly. One was a shirt factory and one was a bakery. I might also add that both of them went out of business very shortly after I stopped working for them. No, I don't think they went out of business because I wasn't working there. :) I think their lack of concern for quality is what put them out of business.

  1. I'm craving veggies, too! Just got back from the supermarket and I picked up a little package of tiny "party" tomatoes to sit and munch on this evening. (Pay no attention to that Heath bar that I also bought hidden on the kitchen counter...) Like you, I stayed home with my children for many years - now, that was the best job ever!!!

    1. I bet those tomatoes were yummy! I don't think that I've ever had a Heath bar. I hope that you enjoyed both. :)

I agree with you. Being a mama is the best job ever!

  3. This is the time of year when I can't wait for any for anything fresh from our garden. We have some things that have grown all winter, but I'm such a veggie lover that I am looking forward to some more variety. I agree that being a mom is the best job. Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Patrice. I love veggies, too. My youngest daughter has always loved them, too, but the other kids won't touch them.

    1. Hi Gina,

I am about 60 miles south of Houston, not directly one the coast. We're one county in from the coast in Wharton County.

The allergies are still having a field day with us, but it has to be over eventually, right?

I hope that all goes well with your garden. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!

  6. Isnt' it sad how some employers are? The bottom line is the little guys get the job done so you better treat them right, if you want to turn a profit. I hope you feel better soon!

    1. Yes, it is very sad, Cathy. They just don't care and that attitude isn't the best for their bottom line, either.

Thank you. I think that the worst part is over for me but David is still hacking away like he has tuberculosis or something. It is just stinkin' allergies that we're dealing with.

  7. I began a garden about 5 years ago. I love the feel of the dirt on my bare feet. (I'm strange, I know it.)

    1. That's not strange at all. I lived in bare feet when I was a kid and still don't like wearing shoes, but I have to.
