Addicted to Reading

Are you addicted to reading? I am. Our family is full of book-a-holics or, rather, bibliomaniacs. I like that word better.

Thanks to The Gypsy Mama's Five Minute Friday meme, I visited a blog titled The Beauty of Eclecticism. This blog introduced me to various reading challenges such as the Read Your Own Library Challenge, which challenges us to read the books that we've had longer than six months but have not read yet.

I also found there the link to a Cedar Cove Series Challenge based on the series by Debbie Macomber.

AND there is a challenge for reading challenges, which you can find by clicking the button below:

Reading Challenge Addict

There is also a challenge over at Howling Frog Books for the Greek Classics. The minimum level is Sophocles. At this level, you read 1-4 works. You can go up to higher levels, but once you choose a level, you cannot retreat to a lower level. I'm a wimp, so I'm starting at the bottom and will change it if I read more.

At the moment, I will consider myself in the "Easy as Pie" category. That involves participating in 1 - 5 reading challenges. I think that I can handle that just fine. The Reading Challenge Addict begins 1 January 2012 and ends 31 December 2012. They also offer mini-challenges and giveaways. I think it sounds like fun.

I'm in! What about you?

Update: Oops! I forgot to add this one: What's in a Name 5. There are different categories the books have to be for this one. The list is on the sign-up page. Check it out!

  3. Wow, all of them sound fun, and I think that maybe I will do them one year. I know one year I took a challenge to read more than 80 books in a year. I read around 120 but it was work. I have never did it again. I will think about it though. I like the one reading the Greek Authors. I would be at wimp level I think.

I will probably always be at wimp level in any reading challenge, but especially the Greek classics. haha

I hope that you will have fun with your reading whether in a challenge or not. It shouldn't be work, but a pleasure, that's for sure. :)

    Thanks for stopping by!

Aeneid by Virgil is the one that I think I will read for this challenge. It should be an interesting adventure. :)
