I have lived on the Texas Gulf Coast in a little town of about 10,000 or so people for nearly seven years.
Right now we're in a major drought. Lake Texana appears to be more greenery than water. I half expected the Gulf to look the same when we were there Monday.
There are acres and acres of dead corn, rice being watered and appearing to grow fine, and something that I'm relatively sure is cotton looks to be doing fine, too.
I grew up in a rural area in South Carolina, but the two places are worlds apart in more ways than geographically. It has been an adventure.
