What to Do, What to Do?!

My husband and I are in the process of creating new, and reconstructing older, websites and blogs.

I have an idea of what I want to do in general: I want them all to have a unified theme and connect to each other.

That works up until the point that business and art collide. :)

AND there are things that I would like to do with the sites that neither of us have a clue how to do at this point.

I envision a "front door" type initial landing page, with different "rooms" being the various parts of our unified site.

So, do any of you out there have suggestions that would help us with this attempt at unifying two totally different worlds?

I would *love* to read them. Thanks!

  2. Hi Miel,

Thanks. :) I guess my post was a little "I" heavy. haha

He says he likes the idea of a front door and rooms, but isn't sure how we can go about making it so.

He thinks the background needs to be calm rather than busy. I'm ok with calm rather than busy; I just don't want boring.

Maybe I can get him to post his thoughts here, too. :)

  3. Suzanne and Miel,
I am not opposed to creating an image of a front door and have it open into a house and then each part of the house is a link into part of the site. I just don't have a clue how to do it. My skills are a little rusty. Some of these sites have not had any attention since they were built way back in the late 1990s.

My basic idea can be seen at http://www.mcclendonenterprises.com
The bottom line is I feel that it would be better to be simple, basic and there, than great artistic and coming soon. Once we get the simple and basic on line we can tweak here and there until we get it right.
