Update!

Today will be a day of playing catch-up.  Yesterday, we awoke to find that we had no Internet connection. Someone on a construction site cut the line that controlled the Internet to our entire town. Only those that connected via satellite were spared, apparently.  We have DSL, so were without Internet access until sometime this morning.

It also affected our cell phone service, which was very distressing. Our daughters aren't here right now and our Marine was going to try to call us and our calls were having a very difficult time connecting.

I did get over a gigabyte of files erased during my Great Computer Organization Opportunity yesterday, and we went out for a drive to look at some really cool houses and an historic town square, so it wasn't a completely wasted day. It was also too dark for any pictures on the square, but I wish I had taken the camera because we passed a really cool light-up skeleton!

Have a blessed day, y'all!

    1. The only part that really distressed me was the telephone. Our girls couldn't call us and be assured of getting through to us nor could our Marine.

There are plenty of things I can do on my computer without Internet access, so I was okay except for not wanting our bloggy friends to be worried because we just disappeared.

    1. It can be, but it can also lead to some funny moments. Before our daughter left for the day, I asked her to have her dad pull up my computer (because I was busy in another room).

Knowing that the Internet was out of service here, she looked at me funny and said "What's the point?"

That made me laugh because there are a ton of things I can do on this computer that do not involve the Internet. :) For someone as socially connected as she is, though, I understand the distress.

  3. Glad you're back on line - but it's also nice to take a tech-break every once in a while!

    1. Thank you. I agree, a tech-break is a great thing to take on occasion. I know my hard drive is breathing a little better, but I still have a long way to go on clearing it up.

I'd much rather be out on a driving adventure and taking pictures than being on a computer all day long every day. :)
