It sounds fun. We have family history up there, too, from way back in the 1600s.

I must have worded it awkwardly. We didn't have to evacuate while on vacation. The evacuation was our vacation. To us, it was a fun adventure. I felt sorry for those poor folks that had been evacuated from Louisiana here to Texas because of Hurricane Katrina, only to have to evacuate again a few weeks later for Hurricane Rita. We did not go on vacations until we were forced into one due to the evacuation. We had a blast. :)

Have a great week!Suzanne McClendonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15563562309945754772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113402480415418715.post-4546348187165936052016-08-18T04:51:52.425-05:002016-08-18T04:51:52.425-05:00Oh my! Every time I book a beach vacation I struggle with the decision of whether or not to buy the hurricane insurance. So far I haven't and so far we've been lucky.

I'd like to travel to Massachusetts someday to Braintree, Salem, and Plymouth to do some digging into my family history. Trying to get my husband on board with the idea.Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06316595488903619354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113402480415418715.post-89067392787585969912016-08-17T18:19:38.717-05:002016-08-17T18:19:38.717-05:00Thanks, Ellen. The last letter that I actually wrote to someone never got a response, which is kind of disheartening. Maybe she couldn't read my chicken scratch, so didn't worry with it. Who knows?

I think that some of the thrift stores forget the market that they are supposed to be catering to. It is like they think they are there to service those with unlimited pocketbooks and that just isn't the case. Our local thrift store seems to have things at actual thrift store prices. The other day, the sign in the window said "10 t-shirts for $1" which sounded really reasonable to me. I'm sorry that your stores there are too high.

Have a great week!
Suzanne McClendonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15563562309945754772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113402480415418715.post-2556487533852749272016-08-17T18:15:08.396-05:002016-08-17T18:15:08.396-05:00A good book can definitely do that!

I have gone to Goodwill and the Salvation Army a few times and always leave disappointed that their prices are too high. I can get things cheaper on clearance at Walmart and usually Macy's too.pilch92https://www.blogger.com/profile/12263559408792146826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113402480415418715.post-74445724471501617332016-08-17T13:50:11.133-05:002016-08-17T13:50:11.133-05:00There is certainly more of a need to pray for our ...There is certainly more of a need to pray for our military now than there was less than 48 hours ago. Having relatives serving in the military, I certainly agree with you about their safety and the family's concerns. We are both retired and it definitely has its pros and cons. I know that lots of folks can't stand the idea of not regularly doing something, like going to a job every day. From this side of the big river, it looks to me like you have a great place to retire to and spend the weekends. :)

Have a blessed day!Suzanne McClendonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15563562309945754772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7113402480415418715.post-85283722919079868902016-08-17T10:58:52.812-05:002016-08-17T10:58:52.812-05:00My hubs was retired for a while and we used to wak...My hubs was retired for a while and we used to wake up and have to really think about what day of the week it was. Now that he's back working it's easy to identify the weekends : ) Have a great day.
