At least a hurricane sends you notice. Tornadoes just show up unannounced, and they don't give you time to glue anything down!<br /><br />There was a tornado here a few years ago that took out a barn just up the road from our house. It was a long one and I can't remember everything that I wrote. OY! <br /><br />I am a very shy person, too, and do not sing in front of or in earshot of other people. However, as a teenager, I was in the teen choir. I don't know what possessed me to sign up for something that terrified me, but I did. I had to sing alone for them to determine whether I was alto, soprano, or something else. At least you get warning with a hurricane. A tornado can be on you before you even know there's a problem. There was one here several years back that flattened a barn at the end of our road. Keeping up with the storms is an exciting part of summer, especially when our only real chance at a vacation is having to evacuate for a hurricane. haha We've only had to evacuate once, though, and that was for Hurricane Rita. Did you ever have to evacuate?<br /><br />I'm glad that I'm not the only one to feel this way about technology and the true disconnect that it causes. I just can't do it. I love to sing, just not to be heard. I like trying to figure out which storms coming off Cape Verde are going to become hurricanes.
