I can't think of anything that tastes worse the second day. When Davey is home, I make mashed potatoes, no matter the occasion. This year, he wasn't home for Thanksgiving. We had ham and mashed potatoes and peas that Wednesday night.

I love both rice and mashed potatoes and grew up with both in South Carolina. Rice is a big crop in our area of Texas. Everything is "rice this or rice that". :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Patricia. I am way behind on everything after a week of family, food, and fun and 700 or so miles of driving to get the baby girl and take her back to school. :)

It will quite possibly be next June before we see Davey again going by what he last said to me. We were hoping for January, then February, and now it might be put off until June. By then, it will have been two years since we were with our baby boy. I can't stand this. I'm proud as can be of our Marine, but this mama heart can't stand the separation.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. It doesn't bother me in the least. Too bad Dave couldn't be home yesterday.
